I'm back from Taiwan! All 7 days 6 nights were full of shopping, eating and walking till all our legs are numb from the pain. With the endless number of food streets and night markets, I can't help but to shop and eat along the way.

Places visited included:

Huaxi night market(Snake alley) where we drank snake soup and ate snake meat which has a lot of bones.

Yangmingshan where we went to Erzhiping, Xiao you keng where the sulphur valley is and its very smelly and had a sulpur bath at the inn at the bottom of the mountain.

Dan Shui where we walked along the night market street and bought a lot of 'tie dan.' Didn't manage to go over to Yu Ren Ma Tou as it was too late and the sunset was at 5+ pm.

Jin Gua Shan where there are nice scenery. Ate delicious ice cream, bought a CNY bag and a chopstick set.

Jiu Fen. Another street with lots of food. Bought mochi, pineapple pastry and 'tai yang bing' over there.

Gong guang where its another shopper's heaven. Full of food and apparals and shoe shops which caters to the University students over there. Dear bought his adicolour shoe over there. While I bought a lot of cute notebooks!

Shilin night market where we ate the famous XXL chicken cutlet. Super big and nice. I also tried the taiwanese oyster omelet which was very different from singapore's. Ate the smelly tofu which turned out to be quite alright; and also ate 'guan cai ban' which was fried toast with different types of fillings and it was tasty. Milk tea in taiwan is the best I've ever drank. Very tasty though fattening.

Leofoo village which is a theme park. The rides there are almost repetitive but whats special about the theme park is that it has a 'U shaped space shot.' Of cuz I didnt take it. I'm starting to feel too old and weak for such exciting rides. Also part of this village is a zoo which by we saw monkeys, chimpanzees, tigers, flamingo, sheep, camel and horses. I rode on a horse and rode on a camel with dear. Didn't manage to go over to 'xiao ren guo' as we thought we wouldn't have enough time.

Shi Fen waterfall. Though the main attraction over there is the waterfall, we only manage to take a quick glance of it while on the train. We didn't know that repairworks were going on plus its takes like 30-45 to walk from the railway station to the waterfall. Hence, we decided to forgo the walk and went to put up a 'Kong ming' lantern instead! Its a super big kind of lantern where we wrote all our wishes on it and then light it up and let it fly off into the sky. Our lantern flew high and far. It was really nice.

Wu Fen Pu. Rumours had it that the clothes there are much more cheaper. We went and was a little disppointed cuz it wasn't really that cheap after all. However, its really a shopper's heaven there. We came across this shop where they have a lot of cute tees. Really nice designs and prints.

Raohe night market. One of the oldest night market in taiwan. The usual shopping and food stalls being found there.

Wu Lai. Where we climbed up the hill in the rain to see the waterfall. Took cable car up to the opppsite hill where there is nice scenery. It was very cold and freezing cold that day. But seeing the waterfall made it worthwhile. Can't help but took a cab back to the foot of the mountain and off we went for a springwater bath!

Le Hua night market. The usual shopping and eating.

Keelung. Where I walked around the streets shivering. Cuz its near the harbour and its raining the whole day. Can't help but bought a beanie. =)

Xi Men Ding! The place where we live. Ate the 'Ah Zhong mian xian.' First time eating something so hot while standing. Took a while to get used to it. We also ate the taiwan famous shaved ice. Dear and I shared a bowl of pudding shaved ice whereby the shaved ice is made of durian. Dear and I also bought a bag at the one the shops named 'Connie'. The sales assistant was really very friendly and the bags they have are nice and at a reasonable price too. Which was why dear and I decided to get our bags from them the very first day.

Hotel staff were very friendly too. Whatever queries we have they will try their best to answer us. In generally, everyone in taiwan is very friendly! 2 thumbs up!
