I finally did something to my every messy hair - I went to perm my hair! And the hairdresser even gave me bangs. Hahaha I didn't expect myself to have bangs and I'm not getting used to it. The curl is nice though, very naturally and not exaggerated. =))

Last Monday, I went for an interview with Dr. Chai at ICES. The interview was scheduled at 10 am and I reached Biopolis around 915 am. Being very familiar with that place already, it wasn't difficult at all to find my way there. Since I was early, I went to the restroom, changed into heels and checked that I look presentable.

Hair - Checked!
Eyeliner - Checked!
Mascara - Checked!
Attire - Checked!

Since it was still very early (930 am), I crawled my way to the building, checked the directory to ensure that it was the correct building. Alright! Time check - 935am. I sat down outside the building, prep myself while waiting for 950am to make my way up. Throughout that mere 15 minutes, I had butterflies in my stomach and kept wanting to go to the toilet. I was feeling nervous! I took out my phone to keep me occupied, kept looking at the time and checked the email for the nth time to make sure that its the correct date and time. Time check - 951. Time to go up! I exchanged for a pass and made my way up.

As I entered, I got greeted by a not so friendly receptionist who directed me to wait in the boardroom. Okay, no worries I wasn't affected. While waiting, I was trying to sit as straight as possible. Hahahaa and I kept hearing laughter from the room next door which got me a little comforted! At least if that's Dr. Chai's laughter, that meant she was in a good mood! I waited for about 10 mins and so and then Dr. Chai came with a smile and asked me to enter her office. =)

I got greeted by her smile and the butterflies in my stomach vanished. She's a very very nice lady and I had no problems talking to her. I spent almost 1 hour with her explaining my FYP as well as Q&A on the new job. The interview went well and now I'll need to wait for my previous supervisor and FYP prof to give a character reference to Dr. Chai before she decides to hire me. She even sent an email to update me on the status the next day! A very nice lady indeed.

I have confidence that my work attitude in the previous labs would render me a good report and I do hope I will get this job. Did I mention that its going to be a very challenging and fulfilling job? =) And not everyone have this opportunity! Now the anxiety is to wait patiently.
